Description Plateau is seeking a visionary Senior Technologist to lead and mentor our team of technical and solution architects across the organization. This role is ideal for a seasoned hands-on technical leader with deep architectural expertise, a strategic mindset, and a passion for mentoring and guiding high-performing teams. You will be responsible for setting architectural standards, ensuring alignment with business goals, and driving technical excellence across all projects and platforms. This position requires onsite support at our office in Fairfax, VA. Key Responsibilities Architectural Leadership: Define and enforce enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across all technical domains.
Team Oversight: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of solution and technical architects, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology strategy with business objectives and long-term vision.
Governance: Establish architectural governance processes to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability of solutions.
Technology Evaluation: Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to guide strategic investments and innovation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and integrated solutions.
Quality Assurance: Ensure architectural integrity, performance, and security across all platforms and systems.
Stakeholder Communication: Present architectural strategies and roadmaps to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in software architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
Proven experience overseeing enterprise-scale architecture initiatives.
Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, DevOps, and modern software development practices.
Deep understanding and experience with Microsoft Technology Stack.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with architecture frameworks
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance (this requires US Citizenship)
Preferred Skills Experience in regulated industries (e.g., government, healthcare, finance).
Familiarity with data architecture, cybersecurity principles, and compliance standards.
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, or similar.
