Job Summary
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Director, People Business Partners to lead and oversee a team of field-based and site-based People Business Partners (PBPs). This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws, enhancing teammate engagement and aligning People and Culture initiatives with business objectives, fostering a high-performance culture, and enhancing Teammate engagement across all locations.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in People/HR leadership and labor regulations, along with a proven ability to manage distributed teams. They are passionate about leveraging technology to streamline processes, enhance departmental efficiency, and deliver a seamless, high-quality Teammate experience. This role calls for a proactive leader who can influence across all levels and drive initiatives that fuel ACV's growth and success.
This role will support ACV's extensive Sales, Field and Remarketing Center Teams including both exempt and non-exempt Teammates across the United States.
Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of field-based and site-based People Business Partners ensuring consistent People & Culture support and guidance across all locations.

• Responsible for leading the execution of large scale cross functional strategic initiatives in support of business goals to improve business results.

• Partner closely with leaders and Teammates to drive excellent work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement People and Culture strategies that align with business goals and drive organizational effectiveness.

• Consult with senior business leaders to understand business strategies and challenges, identify key talent and talent gaps, execute talent management programs and develop management and leadership capabilities.

• Identify AI-driven technologies and solutions to automate routine processes, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and allowing PBP's to focus on strategic initiatives.

• Be a thought leader, utilizing data-driven metrics and analytics to inform strategic decisions and measure the effectiveness of People and Culture initiatives.

• Partner with People Shared Services and Centers of Excellence in the design and development of programs such as people strategy, talent review, performance management, safety, leadership development, employee relations, and total reward initiatives to deliver against organizational outcomes.

• Leverage business acumen, financial data and market trends to inform the future of ACV's people strategy.

• Assess and optimize organizational structures, processes, and talent to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Lead People Business Partner workstreams during M&A due diligence process including the policy review, liability assessment, organizational design assessment. Provide summaries of findings with detailed actions plans to allow for successful business integration.

• Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable labor and employment laws

• Executes, manages and administers company programs and training as needed.

• Coaches managers on effective Teammate management, Teammate retention, and Teammate recognition and development techniques.

• Collaborate cross-functionally in support and execution of ACV's safety programs, initiatives and practices which are focused on incident prevention and the safety of all Teammates.

• Assure that Company policies are administered fairly and consistently across the organization.

• Lead and support change initiatives, fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement

• Ensure People and Culture policies and practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements, mitigating organizational risk.

• Support Teammate engagement through daily actions of being a culture champion for ACV.

• Develops effective relationships with key people both inside and outside the operation business to provide incredible service and support intended business outcomes.

• Other duties as assigned and/or required.
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational and Industrial Psychology, Business Administration or similar applicable discipline

• 7+ years of experience in People Business Partner roles, with 5+ years in leadership roles overseeing People Business Partners/HR Teams in a multi-state environment.

• Experience working with Sales leaders and supporting site and field-based hourly, non-exempt, workforces.

• Prefer SHRM-SCP and/or HRCI SPHR Certification

• Proven track record of leading with a people first approach and a commitment to excellence.

• In-depth knowledge of labor and employment laws applicable to hourly, non-exempt, exempt and sales-based workforces.

• Extensive experience in managing employee relations, compliance and workforce engagement initiatives.

• Strong technical skills with the ability to interpret People and Culture metrics and develop actionable solutions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organizational levels.
This job location will be in person at our Buffalo, NY HQ and will require domestic travel approximately 40% of the time.
Compensation: $192,000.00 - $220,000.00 annually. Please note that final compensation will be determined based upon the applicant's relevant experience, skillset, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors as permitted by law.
