We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Consulting Senior Director of Philanthropy: Consultant to join our team. This position is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our organization's growth and impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic philanthropic initiatives, managing and expanding our donor base, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our programs. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of philanthropy, a proven track record in fundraising, and the ability to forge meaningful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
The ideal Senior Director of Programs and Operations has philanthropy experience and/or nonprofit. The most important aspect that this person comes in with experience in is grant making, grant writing, etc. Ideally, someone with leadership experience, as well as budgeting experience is also nice to have.
This is an interim role to cover for a maternity leave from May-August. There is an opportunity for hire amongst this team but it would not be in this exact position. During the consulting period, you get AMAZING benefits that are 75% covered for you and 25% for dependents, as well as sick time and 401K. This position is Tuesday-Friday and typically works from 36-40 hours/week.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase philanthropic support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
2. Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with potential and existing donors, ensuring a high level of engagement and satisfaction.
3. Lead grant-seeking efforts, including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
4. Collaborate with the executive team to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals and priorities.
5. Oversee the planning and execution of special fundraising events.
6. Monitor and report on fundraising activities and progress towards goals.
7. Provide strategic guidance and support to the board of directors in their fundraising efforts.
8. Develop and manage the philanthropy department's budget.
9. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in philanthropy and fundraising.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Advanced degree or CFRE certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising or philanthropy, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
3. Proven track record of securing major gifts and meeting fundraising goals.
4. Experience in grant writing and management.
5. Strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape and trends.
6. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and engage a wide range of audiences.
7. Excellent relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to cultivate and steward donor relationships.
8. Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
9. Experience managing budgets and financial forecasting.
10. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
