Senior Director, Card Finance, CFO of Mainstreet
We are looking for a dynamic leader and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of our Mainstreet Card business, which includes both Core Mainstreet as well as New to Credit. The Mainstreet business 1) is a material contributor to our Card and Capital One P&L and 2) is front and center in our commitment to both provide access to credit across the entire consumer credit spectrum and help customers use credit wisely.
This individual will have three direct reports and lead a team of 11 financial analysts, ranging in level from junior analyst through Director. This individual will work directly with the Mainstreet Card Leadership Team, the Card Finance Leadership Team, and key senior leaders across Finance disciplines including Controllers, Corporate Planning, Balance Sheet & Capital Planning and Investor Relations.
A successful candidate will be able to:
- Actively shape and contribute to our team and broader FP&A and Finance culture
- Recruit and develop high performing talent
- Be a strategic thought partner and advisor with senior business leaders
- Generate ongoing analytical insights into business performance, the P&L and the consumer
- Develop and deliver insightful and influential senior management presentations
- Support and influence senior business leaders including members of the Executive Committee (EC)
- Balance analytics and judgment, think beyond Card and influence Corporate decision making
- Challenge the status-quo and create well-managed sustainable processes
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- At least 12 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
- At least 6 years of experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
- At least 5 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in or partnering with the Card business
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's Degree in Finance
- 14+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- 10+ years of experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
- 10+ years of people management experience including both direct & indirect reports
- Ability to build and manage robust financial models within modern infrastructure
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
