Your Mission

We're looking for a Dev Ops Engineer, in an on-call rotation, to collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, build, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure and services (e.g., ECS, RDS MySQL, Lambda). Ensure security best practices and compliance standards are consistently met across all deployed systems and services.

This is an independent contributor role, reporting to our CTO. In this role, you will design and implement containerized applications using Docker, leveraging AWS services (such as ECS/ECR) for orchestration. You'll develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform to ensure repeatability and scalability, while enhancing system monitoring and alerting strategies to gain deeper insights into performance and availability.

How You'll Grow With Us

The stability of an established company with new startup momentum. An unparalleled opportunity to create relationships, systems, strategy and culture. An environment where your voice will be heard and your impact deeply felt. A sense of belonging where your work is appreciated and rewarded.

At Tilia, we stay on the bleeding edge of tech. We maintain high standards for tech and best in class data integrity.

The Impact You'll Drive
  • Design and implement containerized applications using Docker, leveraging AWS services (such as ECS/ECR) for orchestration.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform to ensure repeatability and scalability.
  • Enhance system monitoring and alerting strategies to gain deeper insights into performance and availability.
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen the platform's security posture, ensuring alignment with relevant industry standards and organizational requirements.
  • Contribute to long-term architectural planning, migrations, and capacity planning efforts, including RDS MySQL optimization.
  • Maintain and optimize GitHub Actions workflows for building, testing, and deploying application and infrastructure changes.
  • Perform security assessments, implement remediation efforts, and conduct compliance checks on infrastructure and services.
  • Integrate and optimize Redis, Elasticsearch, and RDS MySQL to improve application speed and reliability.
  • Document processes, policies, and configurations to promote knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Identify and implement improvements in tooling, frameworks, and processes to enhance developer experience and operational efficiency.
How You'll Shape Our Future

At Tilia, we celebrate all the dimensions of diversity, including diversity of experience. We recognize that candidates applying for this role will be most successful if they bring the following with them:
  • Proven track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructures (preferably in AWS).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Golang strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration and container ecosystems (Docker, ECS). Exposure to Kubernetes is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions).
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (RDS MySQL), caching technologies (Redis), and search platforms (Elasticsearch).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of security and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving aptitude, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
If you feel like you don't meet all of the requirements for this role, we encourage you to apply anyway. The confidence gap and imposter syndrome can sometimes get in the way of meeting incredible candidates and we don't want it to get in the way of meeting you. We encourage you to reach out if you have belief in our mission and your own ability to contribute to our team.
