The Senior DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in bridging the gap between development and operations teams, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of software applications. They are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools necessary for continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automation of processes. This role requires a deep understanding of both development and operational aspects of software engineering, as well as strong leadership and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  2. Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and streamline deployment processes.
  3. Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  4. Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to build, deployment, and infrastructure.
  6. Ensure security best practices are followed in all DevOps processes.
  7. Continuously improve and optimize DevOps processes and tools.
  8. Provide support and guidance to development teams on DevOps best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, focusing on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services and cloud architecture.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, especially Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of networking, security, and monitoring in cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for handling changing priorities.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
The Where and When

This is a full-time (35 hours/week) role based in Manchester or Milton Keynes. We operate a flexible, hybrid work model, combining office and home working to suit individual and team needs.

You will report to the Engineering Manager in Milton Keynes and may collaborate with regional teams in the US, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.
