The Senior Development Manager, Institutional Giving is responsible for managing the organization's institutional funders portfolio, with a focus on government grants and contracts, as well as supporting foundation and corporate fundraising. With an annual budget of approximately $17M, this role serves as the lead writer for proposals and reports, ensuring compliance and effective administration of grants and contracts.

Description
- Manage the organization's portfolio of grants and contracts, overseeing the full grant lifecycle (design, selection, implementation, and closure) and ensuring compliance with donor regulations.
- Work with leadership to maintain and expand government funding by identifying strategic opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and community needs.
- Lead the drafting of letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and related materials.
- Collaborate with program staff and leadership to prepare application and reporting materials, monitor deliverables, and address any performance issues proactively.
- Maintain grant administration systems, tracking proposals, budgets, and reporting deadlines to ensure timely submissions.
- Monitor government funding channels and maintain up-to-date records with relevant online rating agencies.
- Establish and manage project timelines for grant submissions and reports, keeping stakeholders informed of key deadlines.
Profile
- 5+ years of professional experience in institutional fundraising or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Extensive experience in writing and managing funding proposals for government agencies at federal, state, and city levels, as well as experience with foundation and corporate fundraising.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for different audiences.
- Excellent writing, editing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of funders and achieve financial results.
- Proficiency in donor CRMs, research systems, MS Office, Adobe Publisher, Google products, and social media tools
