Description NGEN is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) portion of NGEN, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. We are looking for a Senior Desktop Support Specialist to provide essential support at a government site located in Wallops Island, VA, as part of the Field Services team supporting the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC). This position involves direct desk-side support for customers, including troubleshooting and repairing IT devices.
The role requires the ability to:
- Lift and carry 50 lbs for distances up to 100 feet; able to lift 25 lbs vertically using ladders
- Work in confined spaces, such as raised floors or communications closets; navigate noisy environments like data centers and operations centers, and remain standing or seated for 8 hours at a time
- Utilize basic hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches while rack mounting active and passive equipment
- Identify different colors of wires and cables; possess correctable vision to 20/20 or better to view objects and information on schematics and computer monitors
- Safely judge distances in confined spaces and while using ladders
- Drive a personal or corporate vehicle (availability dependent) to various locations to work on projects and troubleshoot; valid state license is required
Key Responsibilities - Troubleshoot and resolve user computer issues, covering hardware and software concerns
- Assist junior technicians in solving complex issues
- Manage the resolution of customer tickets in accordance with established Service Level Requirements (SLRs)
- Ensure that customer requirements and guidelines are clearly identified and met within the timeline set by the customer
- Support other teams in troubleshooting and resolving local and network-connected MFD/printers
- Assist other teams in addressing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Video Teleconference (VTC) issues
- Provide exceptional computer support directly to VIP and executive-level customers
Basic Qualifications - Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- High School diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience; additional education or certifications may be considered in lieu of experience
- Valid DoD 8570 IAT Level II: Security+ certification or higher
- Demonstrated expertise in IT Enterprise Operations
- Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, version 10
- Familiarity with HP Service Manager, Remedy, or similar Service/Help Desk ticket management software
- Basic network troubleshooting skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills

Pay Range: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00
