What You'll Do:
- Design and develop custom electronic cables, harnesses, PCBs, and assemblies.
- Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and cost-effectiveness evaluations to ensure top-tier product outcomes.
- Support internal teams (production, test, purchasing, sales) to align engineering efforts with customer needs and operational goals.
- Use 3D parametric modeling and PCB layout tools to produce design files, BOMs, and detailed documentation.
- Define technical specifications and ensure compliance with IPC-610, IPC-620, and other industry standards.
- Conduct testing, validation, and continuous improvement on designs.
- Review drawings and technical documents to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
- Drive efficiency by resolving design challenges and supporting production optimization.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years in an engineering role - ideally in cable/harness design or PCB layout/manufacturing.
- Experience with Altium, Autodesk Inventor, and ATE systems (PXI preferred).
- Familiarity with ISO/ANSI/IPC standards and documentation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Tools You'll Use:
- 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor)
- PCB Design Software (Altium Designer)
- Multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, network analyzers
- ERP/MRP systems (for BOM and documentation updates)
Work Environment:
- Mix of office and light manufacturing floor exposure
- Occasional travel (approx. 10%)
- Regular on-site attendance is required
Physical Demands:
- Mostly sedentary with moderate standing (approx. 35%)
- Occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs), stooping, and bending
