Maintaining multiple databases across unclassified and classified environments is required. This also includes data exchanges through cross domain solution pipelines such as AWS diode and software artifacts. Must have the ability to automate and ingest and transform data, orchestrate data pipelines while applying programming concepts, design data models, manage data life cycles, and ensure data quality
Deploy and manage database solutions on AWS, including EC2 instances and S3 storage.
Implement best practices for security, scalability, and disaster recovery in a cloud environment.
Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.
Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and integrity checks.
Monitor database performance and identify areas for optimization.
Preferred candidate will have proficiency in AWS tools such as: Kubernetes, EKS, Diode, Lambda etc. (not all inclusive) orchestrated/deployed in a cloud environment
Qualifications:
Must have the equivalent of three years in database administration with knowledge of AWS infrastructures.
A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with AWS services and relational and non-relational databases.
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5+ years' experience as a database platform engineers in a medium to large scale solutions to include experience with tasks such as data migration, data modeling, automation, modernization, data replication, backup and recovery, and general DBA tasks
Strong understanding of database design, implementation, and maintenance principles, with a keen focus on automation and optimization.
