Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join a fast-paced, collaborative technology team supporting multiple lines of business. This individual will be instrumental in optimizing the company's database infrastructure, leading cloud migration efforts, and contributing to the future architecture of internal applications.
This is a high-impact role focused on production support, database architecture, and performance tuning, with additional responsibilities in ETL, reporting, and cloud transformation.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage and support high-volume, enterprise-level SQL Server environments
- Administer database security, access controls, and encryption
- Diagnose long-running queries and optimize performance using native and third-party tools
- Design and implement replication strategies (SQL native, ETL, cloud tools)
- Write and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SSIS packages
- Create and maintain Entity Relationship Diagrams
- Migrate on-prem SQL environments to Azure cloud
- Develop custom reporting solutions and data transformation tools
- Assist with schema development for new in-house applications
- Refactor and optimize a legacy data warehouse environment in Azure
- Participate in resolution of complex technical issues across multiple projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Dev, Engineering, and Analytics
Required Experience:
- 5+ years as a Database Administrator in enterprise settings
- 3+ years of experience with SSMS, SSIS, and SSRS
- Strong SQL and T-SQL knowledge
- Experience administering SQL Server in Azure or other cloud platforms
- Familiarity with ETL tools and reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Domo
- Proficiency in data backup/recovery, high availability strategies, and capacity planning
- Strong understanding of data integrity practices
- Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate technical concepts clearly
- Experience with .NET/C and foundational networking concepts
Preferred Skills:
- Experience designing both physical and logical database structures
- Ability to interpret and produce technical/functional design documentation
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts in the context of data management and automation
- Knowledge of NoSQL and modern databases (e.g., Snowflake, MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Exposure to machine learning model integration for predictive analytics or anomaly detection
