This is a Hybrid role requiring 2 days a week in a Wolters Kluwer office

In this newly created role as the Senior Oracle/MySQL Database Administrator you will perform as a lead member of the Infrastructure Database Support Team. You will collaborate with the Enterprise Architects, Database Engineers, Development DBAs, and IT Operations Teams on complex database projects and performance tuning efforts. Ideally your background is with writing and tuning SQL queries and procedures, as well as collecting metrics to analyze query performance and creating reports to share with development teams.

• existing and future applications

• Understand and promote best practices and standards for database development/deployment/maintenance; oversee governance to assure

• product stability and performance

• Identify database requirements by interviewing customers; analyze, design, and code database utilities for existing

• and future systems

• Ensures high-level integration of application development with industry standards

• Identifies, evaluates, conducts, schedules, and leads technical analysis functions to ensure all applicable database analysis requirements are met.

• Provide technical consultation to the development teams on more complex database projects to ensure proper data modeling and design paradigms are applied in the creation and maintenance of all application databases.

• Participate in on-call rotation providing 24x7 support of all critical internal and customer facing applications.

The experience we look forward to you having:

• Extensive experience maintaining and developing production mission critical databases, preferably Oracle & MySQL

• DevOps experience in a CI/CD environment

• Familiarity with data manipulation languages and the principles of database design

• Ability to tune queries and offer suggestions for performance improvement

• Aggregation of data from multiple sources and present reports for development teams to focus tuning efforts

• Experience with monitoring tools like OEM, SolarWinds DPA, Data Dog preferred

• Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c or higher, MySQL 8.x on PaaS, Proxy SQL as a MySQL HADR solution

• Administering very large and high volume transactional databases in a 24/7 environment

Setting up and administering database environments; including development, testing, disaster recovery and production

• A bachelor's degree preferred

• Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience as a Microsoft SQL Database Administrator or Database Developer
