Neuberger Berman's technology team is looking for a hands-on Senior Developer with strong database and data pipeline development experience to align with our Specialty Finance Investment team. You will work with team members to design and implement end-to-end business solutions for various business teams focused solving data-centric problems, working with large data sets and providing insights to drive investment decisions. In this role, you will collaborate with our Specialty Finance group, Quantitative Analysis, and other key stakeholders

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support the investment team
  • Act as the primary liaison to the Specialty Finance investment team, operations, and global tech teams, to gather and understand the data requirements and business needs with the ability to translate them into technical requirements through clear communication
  • Design, build, and enhance data models and storage systems to support analytics and reporting
  • Design and implement visualizations using tools to present data insights effectively to stakeholders.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through robust validation and monitoring practices
  • Optimize data flows and processes, ensuring efficient data access and retrieval
  • Own the relationship and integration with related third-party platforms to align with business operations
  • Explore and implement cloud-based solutions to improve data infrastructure
  • Mentor junior data engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure best practices
Requirements
  • BS or BA Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience working in financial services; specialty finance or familiarity with consumer loans is preferred.
  • 7 + years of experience developing with Python and SQL (Snowflake knowledge is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts; working with large datasets
  • Knowledge of accounting platforms (e.g. Arcesium and Geneva) is a plus
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools like Git, Jenkins, or similar is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment


Compensation Details

The salary range for this role in Illinois is $125,000-$165,000 and the salary range for the role in New York is $125,000-$165,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
