General Summary
  • The Data Security Analyst is a full-time position focused primarily on identity and access management functions. The position has responsibility for provisioning user security, understanding and documenting the security infrastructure and is the primary support for all user access management, security, and provider coordination including Windows Active Directory, EMP and SER records. The work is accomplished in a team environment and requires excellent problem solving and communication skills with a high level of professionalism. This position will respond as a part of rotational call team to address user needs after standard work hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements guidelines for provisioning, changing and terminating user access.
  • Establishes ownership of Active Directory security groups, permissions and all Epic security classes.
  • Provisions application security levels and define roles for role based access (RBAC).
  • Coordinates security-related activities across multiple teams.
  • Analyzes highly complex workflows, system details, business requirements, and technical issues associated with EHR and other Phelps Health application(s).
  • Configuring of EHR application(s) including workflows, processes, reports, and/or users.
  • Troubleshoots complex problems and questions from end users. Provides support of daily and ad-hoc requests.
  • Interfaces with key IT, clinical, business and operations staff to assist in the development of efficient workflows and security best practices.
  • Organizes and participates in testing system enhancements and performs rigorous testing to deliver high-quality end-user solutions.
  • Solving difficult problems and develops solutions to tasks or projects which may be unique, using judgment and initiative.
Education
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Mathematics, Healthcare Informatics or Computer Science OR high school diploma and equivalent experience within information technology.
Work Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in information technology
  • Excellent customer service skills including the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with EMR support, training, build, or configuration.
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory
  • Understanding of concepts of confidentiality and data security.
  • Demonstrated ability to reach a goal including the ability to develop an action plan and adhere to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather information from multiple sources, analyze applicability and appropriateness, and develop an efficient workflow
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and change management skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships.
  • Experience with Epic implementations preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets, use data to draw conclusions, assess performance metrics and/or write reports including the use of data visualization and manipulation tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc.
Certification/License
  • Certifications in one or more Epic applications or technical functions Preferred. Epic Provider Administration Badge preferred.
Mental/Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and to generate technical reports and documents. May occasionally be expected to work unusual hours while resolving technical issues. Standing, walking, and sitting are required. Moderate lifting (10lbs) required.
Working Conditions
  • Standard office conditions; well lighted, climate controlled area. Constant noise from fans and printers for extended periods. Will spend a great deal of time using computers with possible visual or muscular discomfort. Potential exposure to infectious diseases.
