Your Mission We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and maintain the critical warehouse infrastructure that supports our team's decision making.
This is an independent contributor role, reporting to our Director of Engineering. In this role, you will develop databases, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for data deliverables. These projects include conceptual design, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading, data maintenance, and data security policy. You will be responsible for data infrastructure decisions and architecture proposals and drive daily development of data products that serve the internal and external clients of the organization.

The Impact You'll Drive - Operational excellence to extend a world class data lake/warehouse in GCP BigQuery, holding Data Warehouse architecture and performance to a high standard.
- Seamlessly extract, transform & load production data feeding our complex financial reporting.
- Partnership with Producers and Analysts to support key metrics and reports for business development for us and our publishers.
- Ongoing development of our Python based extract load transform framework using modern development practices: version control, testing, etc.
- Ensure data development is kept in sync by actively participating in product development.

- 8+ years as a professional Software Engineer; 6+ years relevant Data Engineering experience.
- Deep technical understanding of SQL and relational concepts.
- Extensive experience optimizing SQL queries and developing indexes for performance.
- Strong software development experience in Python, including testing.
- Expertise working with data in the cloud: AWS, GCP preferred.
- Experience developing DAG-based ETL jobs using AirFlow.
- Experience working with version control systems, such as Git.
- Experience with AWS Data Migration Service a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong record of excellent communication, problem solving, and attention to detail.

The Fine Print Pay Transparency Notice
At Tilia, our Total Rewards philosophy is rooted in fairness, equity, and an unbiased approach to compensation, paired with competitive benefits across all locations where we operate.
For this San Francisco Bay Area-based role, the salary range is
$161,028 - $217,728, with a midpoint of
$189,378.
New hires start between the minimum and midpoint of the applicable geo-defined range, with final base pay determined by several factors, including experience, skills, competencies, internal equity, and market data calibration.
In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a generous benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans. Our talent partners will provide more details during the hiring process.
