Description We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Machine Learning and Data Engineer with 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep expertise in designing, developing, and deploying Machine Learning models using Python and R, with a strong focus on and a foundational understanding of Generative AI (GenAI).
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on different types of projects - from data ingestion and transformation to model development, deployment, and monitoring. You will have the opportunity to build cutting-edge Gen AI projects and prototypes. Collaborating closely with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders, you will deploy scalable solutions that empower data-driven decision-making and deliver real business impact.
A deep understanding of statistics and programming will be crucial, as you'll be working with large datasets to build, test, and fine-tune machine learning models and algorithms for maximum performance.

Role Responsibilities - Data Engineering:
- Design, Develop, Deploy, and Monitor complex ETL/ELT data pipelines which may contain various required transformations of data using various languages and techniques.
- Optimize and tune data processing and storage systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes.
- Machine Learning Engineering:
- Design, develop and implement successful Machine Learning models.
- Study and transform data science prototypes and apply appropriate machine learning algorithms and tools.
- Review published research papers to apply to industry/client use-cases.
- Peer review other models for improvements and optimization.
- Run machine learning tests and experiments, and document findings and results.
- Train, retrain, and monitor machine learning systems and models as needed.
- Collaborate with data engineers to build scalable and efficient data pipelines for training and testing.
- Generative AI:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities for Generative AI solutions.
- Build prototypes & implement solutions for Gen AI, such as: LLMs, RAGs, and AI Agents.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Proven ability to foster a collaborative and positive team environment, contributing to team success.
- Proven ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical collaborators.
- Ability to work with clients to ensure smooth and successful implementation, delivery and deployment of ML/AI solutions and other relevant data solutions.
- Communication and collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements - Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience working with Machine Learning models.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience working with Cloud Technologies, such as: Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Redshift.
- Ability to write robust code in programming languages, such as: Python, SQL and R.
- Proficient in writing advanced / complex SQL statements; expertise in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries required.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT fundamentals and solutions involving tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Fivetran and SSIS.
- Strong knowledge of Machine Learning frameworks and libraries, such as: TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Basic understanding of GenAI tools and frameworks, such as: GPT, DALL-E, GANs, and how they can be applied to real-world problems for contributing to cutting-edge AI-driven projects.
- Familiarity with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure for deploying and managing machine learning models.
- Analytical mindset: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights.
- A solid understanding of statistical analysis, data modeling and data visualization techniques.
- Communication and collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Where You'll Work Moser has two offices in Indianapolis, IN, and one in Baltimore, MD. This position will require a hybrid/onsite work schedule out of our downtown Indianapolis office.
Salary At Moser Consulting, we believe in pay transparency and fairness.
