Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position Is $137500 - $182129.2. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Senior Data Engineer.

Are you passionate about data data engineering function. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems to support data analytics and business intelligence needs. You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and efficiently processed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Provide long-term data strategy input in collaboration with leadership, data analysts, and other platform experts within the company.
  • Implement standards required for best practice design, development, and governance of overall data stack.
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes in relationship to business requirements.
  • Integrate data from various sources into our data warehouse using varied technologies and coding techniques.
  • Integrate data from various sources into our data warehouse.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation and cleansing.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues.
  • Optimize database performance and scalability.
  • Document data processes and workflows.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in data engineering.
  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making processes across the organization.
  • Implement business continuity and data governance technologies and best practices to ensure industry standard data platform design and resiliency.
  • Participate in project lifecycle of data projects to ensure thoughtful data engineering design to optimize tools and technologies while best meeting the requirements of the business.
What you'll Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
Preferred:
  • Microsoft certifications
  • Databricks
  • Experience in leading data-driven projects and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
