Here is what you will need: - Bachelor's degree in data management analysis, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or other IT-related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of experience in data engineering and Business intelligence.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
- Advanced knowledge in SQL/TSQL, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and other ETL tools.
- Understand data modeling in both relational database and data warehouse.
- Proven experience in data warehouse design and ETL processes.
- Experience building and optimizing data/ML pipelines in Azure.
- Strong ability to identify issues and be able to find solutions quickly.
- Experience in programming languages like Python, R, Java, .Net.
- Experience with version control like Azure Repos and deployment and CI tools.
- Experience with data profiling and data quality tools a plus.
- Statistical and machine learning knowledge a plus.
- Experience with Healthcare-related data and HIPAA requirements is a plus.
- Excellent project management and organization skills a plus.
- Familiar with mammography technologies and processes is a plus.
- Administrator experience with BI tools like Excel, SSRS, Tableau and Power BI a plus.
A Day in the Life of a Senior Data Engineer: - Provide services and support for the following areas:
- Participate in design, prototype and implementation of cloud data platforms including ETL, data processing and related applications.
- Quickly understand the data requirements and work with source application team to understand the source data. Come up with solutions on how to transform and load the data into data warehouse for supporting reporting and analytics.
- Conduct data mapping activities and help maintain the data integrity of the data sources.
- Build and enhance the data flow required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Azure data technologies.
- Understand DevOps concept and be able to build and deploy data/ML pipelines.
- Identify, design and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing data processing for greater scalability and cost saving.
- Understand data security and develop data solutions which are HIPAA compliant.
- Perform quality control and data validation, identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality. Work with business users for verification and sign offs.
- Proactively make recommendations and identify opportunities to solve business problems.
- Work with stakeholders including the executives, operation leaders, marketing and HR executives to understand their needs and come up with data solution to meet their needs.
- Provide production support for cloud and on-prem data loads.
