Description: Engineer both the front end for user to interface and the back end for processing and data storage

Investigate/prototype new technologies to aid in acceleration of development and data reporting

Engineer solutions for continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline

Engineer solutions for scalability to meet surge demands

Collaborate with external DOD and IC groups to facilitate data collection, cyber security compliance, and inter-agency communication

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, network engineers, and software engineers to understand data requirements and develop scalable data solutions

Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure the timely and accurate movement of data from source systems to data warehouses and other storage solutions

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, errors, and inconsistencies

Explore and implement new technologies, tools, and best practices in data engineering to enhance data processing efficiency and scalability

Collaborate in the design and implementation of data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive information

Oversee and maintain the day-to-day operation of Linux-based network servers, cloud-based environments, and virtual environments

Implement, administer and troubleshoot security, data recovery, and network infrastructure solution

Configure and troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to operative systems, network devices, and customer applications

Identify, analyze, and resolve system issues in a timely and accurate fashion

Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures and monitor system performance

Monitor network security and implement security policies

Develop and implement system backup and recovery policies and procedures

Ensure system and data security and integrity through consistency, validation and error checking routines

Prepare and implement reasonable, secure methods for the collection, storage and disposition of data

Basic Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong track record of designing and implementing complex data pipelines

Expertise in Python, Flask, Javascript, React, Django, MongoDB, Kubernettes, AWS Cloud computing, and Linux terminal environment

Expertise in Linux Systems Administration and Information Assurance within a DevSecOps environment

Deep understanding of Linux operating system principles, notably Linux distributions such as Red Hat or CentOS.

Knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift and AWS services

Familiar with container security scanning procedures and remediation within CI/CD pipelines

Experience within network architecture and TCP/IP protocols within Linux environments

Experience managing documentation and code in GitLab

Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing concepts, and data modeling principles

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with cloud-based data services

Effective communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desired Skills:

Possess previous Space experience at the operational/theater levels (e.g. Combatant Command, Joint/Combined Task Force, Component)

Experience with data orchestration and workflow management tools is a plus

Understanding of DevOps principles and practices related to data engineering is a plus

Possess experience in supporting USSPACECOM, AFSPACE, NAVSPACE, MARFORSPACE, or SMDC/ARSPACE operations and/or exercises

Experience working on classified networks and interfacing with military staffs at the operational and strategic level

Ability of obtain Security+ Certification

Machine learning experience and/or Artificial Intelligence experience

Experience working with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks

Must be able to attain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and pass a Polygraph exam

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $97,100 - $171,235. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
