Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement cutting-edge data warehousing and lake house solutions.
  • Revolutionize legacy industrial systems into modern, cloud-based data platforms.
  • Leverage technologies such as Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, and more to create and manage data solutions.
  • Engage with operational staff and leadership to understand their data needs effectively.
  • Connect various enterprise systems and craft data models to streamline data ecosystems.
  • Establish and uphold data governance frameworks for our clients.
  • Lead and support teams of business intelligence analysts.
  • Facilitate data requirement sessions and fact-finding meetings with operational and IT personnel.
  • Navigating architecture across diverse IT environments with differing goals and governance.
  • Educate less data-savvy team members on best practices in governance, controls, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools is advantageous.
  • Experience with Power Platforms is a plus.
Qualifications:

Required Technical Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or comparable roles.
  • Proven track record of modernizing legacy systems to cloud-based platforms.
  • Expertise in at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Advanced proficiency with data warehouse technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift).
  • Solid experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Databricks, Spark).
  • Excellent SQL skills and familiarity with various database technologies.
  • Experience in implementing data governance frameworks and ensuring data quality standards.
Integration & Modeling Expertise
  • Proven ability to connect diverse enterprise systems successfully.
  • Expertise in data modeling, capable of simplifying complex ecosystems.
  • Experience with API integration and service-oriented architecture.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., SSIS, ADF, Informatica) is a plus.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Minimum of 3 years experience leading or mentoring analytics teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to conduct detailed data requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Skilled at transforming business needs into technical specifications.
  • Successful history of upskilling team members in data practices.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and dashboard creation.
  • Understanding of industrial systems and operational technology (OT).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management.
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Snowflake, Databricks) are a plus.
Work Location

This position requires onsite presence at client locations and/or our San Francisco office up to 2 days per week. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is hybrid (partial remote/partial onsite) and is not eligible for full remote work.

Compensation

In compliance with California law, the base salary range for this position in San Francisco is $125,000 to $165,000. The actual salary paid will be determined based on various factors, including skills, education, experience, market conditions, and internal equity. We anticipate the successful candidate will be placed in the middle of that range, although this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
