Mission and Goals As a Senior Data Analyst at Gen, you will play a key role in scaling our data and analytics capabilities. You will report to the Director of Data Product within the Data Product & Analytics team and collaborate closely with Data Engineers and Data Product Managers.
In this role, you will own the design and maintenance of end-to-end data models and work cross-functionally to build efficient and scalable analytics solutions. You'll perform deep analyses on traffic, revenue, and advertiser data, and help triage and resolve complex data questions to support business growth and decision-making.
Objectives Data Modeling & Analytics:
- Design and maintain end-to-end data models in collaboration with Data Engineering and Data Product teams.
- Build efficient, scalable analytics solutions (dashboards, reports, data pipelines) to support business decisions.
Technical & Ad Hoc Analyses:
- Use Python and SQL to perform deeper analyses on traffic, revenue, or advertiser data.
- Triage and resolve complex data questions or inconsistencies flagged by the team or stakeholders.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with existing analysts, providing guidance on technical best practices (Airflow, dbt, Git workflows).
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate overall team proficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical partners, ensuring everyone understands the "why" behind the data.
Quality Assurance & Monitoring:
- Continuously monitor data pipelines for anomalies, investigate and resolve data issues before they impact stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to address root causes, ensuring a stable data environment.
Competencies - Experience: 6+ years of relevant work experience analyzing and optimizing media campaign performance, user behavior, traffic patterns, and conversion metrics.
- MUST HAVE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN PYTHON & SQL.
- Strong background in analytics, and understanding of concepts like Statistical Significance.
- BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Exceptionally high standards in communicating the results of analysis clearly and effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and confidence to deliver technical information succinctly and assertively to non-technical audiences.
- Complex problem-solving and critical thinking skills, along with a solutions-oriented mindset.
