At the direction of the Senior Data Analyst, Data Analytics Supervisor, and the Principal Manager, the analyst will provide high level analytical assistance with the development of data governance templates, procedures, guidelines, and standards related to data documentation, access, use, sharing, maintenance, and retention. The analyst is expected to assist the Senior Data Analyst and Data Analytics Supervisor by working with CFCC data collection teams to transition current documentation to a format that aligns with the office data governance standards.
This work with data collection teams may include the following tasks:
1) conduct meetings;
2) obtain, transfer, collate, synthesize, reformat, and revise already existing documentation to fit into the appropriate format; or
3) draft new documentation. Where appropriate, the analyst may assist with data entry; assist with data analysis in Excel, R, Python, or other similar software; develop tools in R, Python, or other similar software to extract data from data systems; recommend changes to data collection systems to align with data collection and governance best practices; develop tools and procedures to conduct record linkages; and develop tools and procedures to de-identify data.
Desirable experience and skills include:
- Familiarity with data governance topics, standards, and best practices for data analytics.
- Experience developing data governance documentation such as data readmes, dictionaries, handbooks, and access guidelines.
- Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis for research projects
- Experience with R, Python, SQL, or other similar data analytics tool.
- Strong written and oral skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team of professionals.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
