SENIOR DATA ANALYST WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Senior Data Analyst works with data management and/or data sourcing functions to execute a successful data initiative implementation across target areas. This is accomplished through operationalization of data domains, data automation tools, data sourcing, aggregation and integration for reporting purposes. The position will collaborate and partner with constituents across the department and broadly with application teams, reporting teams, data domain partners and subject matter experts. The result of which will enhance data sourcing, data quality, data discovery, impact analysis, data lineage optimization and data controls assessments.
What you will do
- Implement data management and/or data sourcing capabilities and operations management as outlined in data management & reporting framework, policy and standards.
- Coordinates with various stakeholders to create data controls, identify measurement definitions, and perform impact assessment on potential business and data changes.
- Maintains ongoing communication with data stewards to ensure critical data issues are communicated timely for remediation.
- Collaborates with the Data stewards, data custodians and report developers to ensure consistent use and maintenance of data definitions, authorized data sources, and calculations. Additionally, enlists business unit support to take ownership and responsibility for consistent definitions and quality of their data.
- Collaborates with the Data Stewards, Architecture, and Information Technology to prioritize and resolve: data sourcing, business rules, data aggregation, data distribution, and data consumption.
- Documents and maintains data governance activities, maintains logs, and records issues and corresponding resolutions.
- Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data-related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of experience with providing data management or data sourcing functions and related operations
Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Information Systems or Business Administration. Master's Degree in a related field is strongly desired.
- 3 years of banking experience, preferably in regulatory reporting or credit,
- Knowledge of information access and delivery methods, analytics applications and tool portfolio, data sourcing and integration methods. Understanding of data warehouse, ETL, data cleansing, and architecture.
- Solid background of regulatory compliance requirements such as CCAR, BCBS239
- Experience working and effectively collaborating with reporting, operations and technology teams.
- Familiarity with operational and support environment issues.
- Strong critical thinking ability and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently with light to moderate supervision in various areas of responsibility
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal/written communication skills and presentation skills.
- Ability to write SQL queries, perform data profiling and analysis
Compensation Starting base salary: $92,114 - $156,880 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
