Summary We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems within a highly technical DISA program. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing cybersecurity solutions, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with DoD security policies and best practices. Responsibilities Security Requirements Analysis: Analyze and define security requirements for multilevel security (MLS) systems, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards. Solution Engineering & Integration: Design, develop, and integrate security solutions to meet MLS and information assurance requirements. Security Audits & Compliance: Conduct security audits, perform risk assessments, and recommend strategies for risk mitigation. Security Documentation & SOPs: Generate system-level security documentation and support the development of System Operation Procedure (SOP) documents. IT Governance & Risk Management: Apply knowledge of IT governance requirements, encryption and decryption capabilities, and risk mitigation strategies to establish secure solutions. Threat & Vulnerability Analysis: Perform vulnerability and risk assessments across computer systems and applications throughout the system development life cycle (SDLC). Security Architecture Development: Design, analyze, and implement security features for system architectures, ensuring robust information assurance. System Security Integration: Provide expert-level integration and implementation of cybersecurity solutions across various IT environments. Technical Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve cybersecurity-related technical issues, providing engineering and technical support to mitigate threats. Qualifications Security Clearance: Active Top Secret /SCI clearance Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field ( Master's degree preferred). Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, system security, or information assurance, preferably within a DoD or federal agency environment (DISA experience highly preferred). Certifications (Preferred): Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Security+ or other DoD 8570.01-M certifications (IAM/IAT Level III preferred) Skills & Competencies: Expertise in DoD security frameworks, risk management, and compliance (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF, FedRAMP). Strong understanding of encryption, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and cybersecurity best practices. Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection platforms. Experience with secure system design, cloud security, and network defense strategies.
