This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cybersecurity professional to enhance our cybersecurity operations. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and security compliance activities in line with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements.
We are seeking candidates with a strong foundation in cybersecurity practices and considerable expertise in both Linux and Windows environments within DoD networks. You will collaborate with Blue Team, Red Team, and other cybersecurity experts to strengthen our cyber readiness and drive system accreditation efforts.
Note: This position is contingent upon the award of a contract, anticipated in December 2025.
Clearance Requirement: An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for classified information access. US Citizenship is mandatory for clearance purposes.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for various systems.
- Create and maintain essential security documentation, including system security plans and continuous monitoring strategies.
- Conduct annual FISMA assessments and perform continuous monitoring of authorized systems.
- Utilize the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool for system testing, implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and reviewing vulnerabilities.
- Analyze test scan results and document findings to support vulnerability management.
Qualifications: - In-depth understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills for clear presentations and documentation.
- Must possess one of the DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications such as CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, or others.
Preferred Skills and Experience: - Ten years of full-time professional experience in cybersecurity and DoD policies.
- Experience with the National Cyber Range Complex, Risk Management Framework, and a variety of cybersecurity appliances.
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessments and system remediation across both Linux and Windows OS.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Compensation: At SimVentions, compensation varies based on experience, education, and skills, with an estimated annual range of $90,000 - $140,000.
