SimVentions is looking for a highly skilled cybersecurity professional to join our team as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance cybersecurity operations by conducting thorough system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and compliance activities in alignment with DoD requirements. We seek candidates with a robust foundation in cybersecurity and hands-on experience with both Linux and Windows environments within DoD networks.

You will work in a collaborative environment alongside Blue Team, Red Team, and other cybersecurity professionals to bolster our overall cyber readiness and system accreditation efforts.

Please note: This position is contingent upon the award of a contract anticipated in December of 2025.

Clearance Requirement: An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for various systems.
  • Maintain and develop essential security documentation, including:
    • Authorization Boundary Diagram
    • System Hardware/Software/Information Flow
    • System Security Plan
    • Privacy Impact Assessment
    • e-Authentication
    • Implementation Plan
    • Continuous Monitoring Plan
    • Ports, Protocols and Services Registration
    • Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
  • Conduct annual FISMA assessments.
  • Perform Continuous Monitoring of Authorized Systems.
  • Generate and update test plans; conduct testing using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool, implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and conduct Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) reviews.
  • Analyze cybersecurity test scan results, document findings, and develop action plans.
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive understanding of computer security, military specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both writing and oral presentations.
  • Must hold one of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications:
    • CASP+ CE
    • CCNP Security
    • CISA
    • CISSP (Associate)
    • CISSP
    • GCED
    • GCIH
    • CCSP
Preferred Skills:
  • A total of ten (10) years of professional experience in computer security, military specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
  • Familiarity with National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC) requirements and protocols.
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and cybersecurity appliance implementation.
  • Proficiency in STIG implementation and conducting vulnerability assessments with ACAS.
  • Ability to remediate vulnerability findings on both Linux and Windows operating systems.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

Competitive Compensation: Projected annual compensation ranges from $90,000 to $160,000, reflecting factors such as experience and qualifications.
