About the Role We are looking for a Senior Counsel with extensive expertise in data governance, privacy, and cybersecurity. This key position involves providing strategic legal counsel on data risk management and innovation as we continue to address complex legal landscapes. You will advise on privacy laws applicable across the US, Canada, and Latin America, specifically focusing on HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising on intricate legal, regulatory, and policy matters
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts
- Assessing data risks and formulating strategies to mitigate potential harms
- Delivering practical, business-oriented legal services in a fast-paced environment
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of legal experience focused on privacy, data governance, and cybersecurity
- A degree from an accredited law school and admission to a US state bar
- A background in healthcare law and experience in a multinational corporate setting
- Strong analytical, prioritization, and project management skills
- Proven capability to handle multiple projects, provide strategic insights, and communicate effectively
- Familiarity with various privacy, cybersecurity, and AI laws
- One or more relevant certifications related to privacy or cybersecurity
