About the Role The Company is in search of a Senior Counsel with a focus on Cybersecurity, Data Litigation, and Data Risk. This critical role within the legal team is designed to tackle a wide range of legal and technical challenges, including cybersecurity compliance, data breach response, and litigation strategy. The successful candidate will be the primary legal advisor to the Chief Information Security Officer and will work closely with the cybersecurity team on a variety of legal matters. Responsibilities also include providing legal support for cybersecurity vendor and application risk management, leading tabletop exercises, and advancing enterprise-wide compliance with global cybersecurity regulatory requirements. The role demands a professional with a solid foundation in cyber and privacy law, technical fluency in data architecture and cloud security, and experience with regulatory frameworks like ISO 27001. Applicants for this position at the company should have significant experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or equivalent environment, with a focus on cybersecurity, litigation, and privacy law. A Bachelor's and Law Degree from a top-tier academic institution, along with membership in good standing in the State Bar of Virginia or another US state, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cybersecurity, data, and IT infrastructure concepts, as well as experience in the automotive industry. Specialized skills in data privacy law, eDiscovery, and experience with global privacy compliance are also essential.
