Job DetailsWe are seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team.
This position is remote with the exception of 1 onsite visit per month in NYC.
The ideal candidate will have worked for a biotech or pharmaceutical company and have at least 3 years of accounting experience.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Managing the preparation and distribution of internal financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy.
- Conducting variance analysis of actuals against budgets and forecasts, providing explanations of significant variances to management.
- Preparing and recording journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Ensuring compliance with SOX requirements and establishing and maintaining internal controls.
- Working closely with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
- Keeping up-to-date with accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company's financial operations are in line with these standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Proven experience in month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, variance reporting, and journal entries.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with accounting software is highly desirable.
