A Senior Accountant position is open in the Atlanta, Georgia area to manage financial operations for assigned real estate projects. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this hybrid role collaborates with directors, equity partners, and lenders to drive project success.
- Partner with Development and Construction teams to create monthly funding requests for stakeholders.
- Manage project transitions, including loan closings and land acquisitions, by preparing budgets and reviewing legal and closing documents.
- Update budgets monthly and ensure transactions align with operating agreements.
- Communicate spending guidelines to Development teams during project pursuit.
- Liaise with lenders and equity partners for draw requests, capital calls, and cash flow calculations.
- Analyze project capitalization, waterfalls, and sales scenarios for leadership and investors.
- Prepare financial statements, journal entries, and tax workpapers while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Oversee cash management, ledger reconciliations, and external reporting to auditors, lenders, and partners.
- Guide in-house property management on accounting standards and support accounts payable staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's in accounting
- CPA license or all 4 CPA exam parts passed REQUIRED
- 1-3 years' experience, including 1+ year in public accounting (audit OR tax)
- Real estate experience a plus
