Job Title: Senior Controls Technician

Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Senior Controls Technician to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. In this leadership role, you'll lead the installation, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced HVAC control systems, including Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Direct Digital Controls (DDC). This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and help deliver efficient, reliable climate control solutions to commercial and industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the installation, programming, and commissioning of HVAC control systems across various sites.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve control system issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Perform system calibrations, firmware updates, and upgrades as needed.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to develop and implement effective control strategies.
- Provide on-site and remote support, training, and technical guidance to clients and internal teams.
- Maintain thorough documentation of work performed, system configurations, and service reports.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with HVAC controls, including BAS and DDC systems.
- Proficiency with control systems from manufacturers like Trane, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Honeywell.
- Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical systems and communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
- Ability to independently read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and layout drawings.
- EPA Certification.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
Preferred
- Associate's degree or technical certification in HVAC, electronics, automation, or a related field.
- Experience with energy management systems and/or industrial automation/PLC programming.
- Familiarity with remote system access and cloud-based HVAC platforms.
Work Environment
Based out of Los Angeles, CA, with travel to client sites in surrounding areas. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for emergency calls or system commissioning.
