About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Salisbury, NC facility. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in leading controls and automation projects in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, strong hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation platforms, and a passion for optimizing plant performance and safety through automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, programming, and commissioning of PLC/DCS/SCADA systems for chemical plant operations.

  • Work extensively with Rockwell Automation platforms, including Allen-Bradley, PlantPAx, and Ignition systems.

  • Develop and modify control system documentation, including AutoCAD drawings for control panels, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve existing automation systems to maximize efficiency, reliability, and safety.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process engineers, maintenance, and operations staff.

  • Support capital projects and expansions with controls and instrumentation expertise.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company standards, and best practices.

  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in controls and automation engineering.

  • Proven experience working with Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley PLCs, PlantPAx systems, and Ignition SCADA platforms.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for drafting and modifying control system layouts and schematics.

  • Prior experience supporting operations in a chemical manufacturing plant or heavy industrial environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
