Sr. Controls Specialist
Location: Keyes, California
Type: Full-Time Onsite
Compensation: $125,000 annually + 10% bonus eligibility
Relocation assistance may be available.

A leading national manufacturer is seeking a Sr. Controls Specialist to join their facility in Turlock, California. This is a full-time onsite opportunity, offering excellent benefits and the chance to make a direct impact on critical plant operations.

Position Overview:
The Sr. Controls Specialist will provide technical leadership for process controls, electrical engineering, and system optimization. This role is essential in supporting facility operations, plant expansions, and equipment upgrades while ensuring production efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, program, and adjust control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motor control systems, and field devices.

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment and support preventative/predictive maintenance initiatives.

  • Provide technical guidance on controls, electrical design, and construction projects.

  • Develop and maintain controls and electrical engineering standards and process specifications.

  • Manage small projects related to process controls, including working with vendors and contractors.

  • Analyze and recommend improvements to reduce operating costs and enhance system performance.

  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory, food safety, and workplace safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required; undergraduate degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering) or related field strongly preferred.

  • 5 to 8 years of technical experience within the food manufacturing industry (dairy industry experience preferred).

  • Hands-on experience with HMI and ControlLogix programming, electrical schematics, motor control systems, VFD configuration, and instrumentation.

  • Ability to work standard business hours and be on-call as needed.
