Reporting Line: The Senior Contracts Engineer will report directly to the Contracts Manager.
Role: The Senior Contracts Engineer will provide comprehensive Supply Chain support to the business, including Well-Safe's Clients. Responsibilities include client contract review, negotiation, and close-out to execution. The role involves all aspects of the contracting process, from strategy setting, through to contract award and management, ensuring contractor performance and delivering customer value.
Key responsibilities: The Senior Contracts Engineer will be required to: - Review, negotiate, and manage client contracts from inception to execution, including preparing Board Approval documentation and Contract Summaries.
- Liaise with the Commercial Team to review contractual qualifications for tenders and support proposals.
- Develop strategies for specific abandonment programmes in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Manage contract plans and lead tendering, evaluation, and negotiation processes for well abandonment and supporting services contracts.
- Develop ITT packages and evaluate tenders, assessing contract risks.
- Lead contractual negotiations ensuring risk mitigation and commercial optimization.
- Manage contractors throughout project life cycles, ensuring performance targets are met.
- Maintain key supplier relationships, conduct performance feedback, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion partnership arrangements with major suppliers.
- Identify and develop opportunities for value creation, cost reduction, and service improvement.
- Prepare and administer contract documents, amendments, and variations.
- Advise management on contracting and supply chain matters.
- Negotiate contract dispute resolutions.
- Collaborate with well engineering teams to understand financial aspects like costs, accruals, and commitments.
- Coordinate with materials controllers to ensure timely provision of services and supplies.
- Develop strategies for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
