About the Role: As a technical business analyst in the Technology Procurement and Implementation Services practice area, you will collaborate with team members to design, implement, and maintain complex enterprise IT infrastructure solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in systems, networking, and security, as well as the ability to consult with stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable IT solutions aligned with business objectives.
This position will be on-site with the client as needed, with up to 40% travel required to New York City and/or Albany.
Key Responsibilities - Analyze existing IT platforms used across client's 25 locations to identify overlaps, redundancies, and optimization opportunities.
- Develop and apply evaluation criteria for platforms and applications, considering functionality, usability, cost, supportability, and security.
- Facilitate the collection, validation, and completion of IT platform and application data through engagement with stakeholders at each location.
- Define and document platform selection requirements, including identity federation compatibility, enterprise license agreement (ELA) pricing models, deployment models (software as a serve SaaS /on-premises), and long-term support viability.
- Collaborate with vendors, the client's IT team, and internal stakeholders to gather technical, pricing, and licensing information for current and potential platforms.
- Create and apply a scoring model to evaluate and rank platforms objectively.
- Develop comprehensive reports and strategic roadmaps, including current state assessment reports, a requirements and evaluation criteria document, a platform recommendation report, and a consolidation strategy and roadmap.
- Present progress and findings to the client's IT leadership team biweekly.
- Propose risk mitigation strategies and change management recommendations to support successful consolidation.
About you: Required Qualifications - Excellent understanding of SaaS and on-premises deployment models, enterprise authentication/federated identity systems (e.g., Security Assertion Markup Language SAML , Shibboleth), and licensing strategies.
- Experience with IT platform and application life cycle assessments, developing selection criteria, and planning for decommissioning.
- Ability to collect, validate, and analyze IT infrastructure and application usage data at scale.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience reporting to executive IT leadership.
- Ability to engage multiple stakeholders across decentralized organizations.
- Experience working with procurement and vendor negotiation
Preferred/Desired Qualifications - Familiarity with public sector or higher education IT environments.
- Experience in platform consolidation or large-scale application rationalization projects.
- Documentation and project management capabilities.
- Knowledge of security and compliance requirements in multi-tenant or federated IT environments.
Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business, or a related field and at least five years of experience in enterprise IT systems, application analysis, or technical consulting.
The salary range for this position is $79,000.00 to $109,000.00 per year. When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including skill set, experience, location, and job-related qualifications.
