Senior Consultant Pension & Benefits Administration and Technology
Segals Administration and Technology Consulting (ATC) team works with Multiemployer and Public Sector clients on a wide range of benefits administration and technology issues to include: strategic planning; process-re-engineering; organizational design and recruitment; design and implementation of benefit systems, and other technologies; vendor selection; and system implementation / post-implementation support.
The Role
The Senior Consultant will collaborate with practice colleagues and other Segal staff to manage and support projects where ATC provides consulting advice and deliverables to our clients focused on improving their benefit administration operations and technology. This specific role will focus primarily on public pension clients, but the ability to work on health benefit projects may also be required;
Primary accountabilities will include but may not be limited to:
Working on client projects end to end from project planning, to leading project teams and day-to-day client interaction and relationship duties;
Developing project plans and budgets and assuming overall quality assurance of service delivery;
Contributing expertise to client assignments, advising clients on the full-range of benefits administration and technology issues;
Acting as a pension benefits administration and technical subject matter expert in areas such as enrollment, employer reporting, terminations, refunds, retirement processing, and retiree payroll
Overseeing vendor implementations and representing a clients best interest while assisting with vendor management;
Supporting efforts to sell Administration and Technology services and develop revenue via participation in new business development activities;
Following ATC standards using MS Teams and Smartsheet for project management;
Contributing to practice development initiatives by researching and contributing knowledge pertaining to latest trends, legislative developments, etc. and supporting initiatives to develop new Administration and Technology services, work products and/or processes designed to enhance practice quality and profitability.
Specific assignments for this role include:
Guiding clients with procurement of benefit administration systems, technologies and third party administration services;
Providing oversight, project management and quality assurance services to benefit administration solution implementations;
Offering client consulting advice and performing assessments of operational processes, organizational structures and technology within a benefit office, and documenting results and recommendations in written reports;
Identifying solutions for our clients unique process, staffing and technology challenges;
Providing implementation roadmaps, plans, timelines, monitoring and continuous status reporting;
Leading discussions and presenting to boards of trustees and executive staff on project status.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an undergraduate degree or commensurate work experience in a business and/or quantitative discipline; minimum of 9 years of public pension experience focused on benefits administration and/or technology services project management experience (PMP preferred); ability to work independently and in teams and, do periodic travel; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated project management, technical writing, analytical and problem solving skills.

The current salary range for this position is $124,500 to $165,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance.
