About the Role

• We are responsible for defining and enabling cross platform business solutions that meet the needs of clients over time. Solutions leverage multiple products, services or systems that provide value to the client, whether internal or external to the PPA enterprise.

• Sitting at the intersection of business, clients and technology, we collaborate with multiple teams to understand solution context and define the solution vision, intent, roadmap and capability set. The team ensures that it is executed to meet the business objectives which are in alignment with the firm's strategic priorities.

• The team implements incrementally using phased releases to meet multi-year solution objectives.

About the Role
The Solution Owner will drive implementation of solutions by working closely with the Solution Manager, Business Analysts, and developers. They will report to the Solution Manager. They will manage the roadmap and backlog for each solution, and will write enablers which accomplish the goals. The Solution Owner will act as a program management leader who proactively collaborates across teams, surfaces/manages dependencies, raises risks and prioritization conflicts, and relentlessly drives toward successful releases. In this role they will engage with developers on sprint planning, coordinate with testing teams (UAT and QA), and coordinate release dates. The Solution Owner regularly monitors and communicates implementation progress with the Solution Team and leadership, and proactively elevates risks to Solution Manager and leadership. The Solution Owner will be accountable for organizing the full body of work to achieve the deliverables, holding planning meetings and removing blockers. They are accountable for making sure that the required work is completed, tested, and meets requirements for go-live dates, using Jira.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage solution roadmaps and backlogs, defining the required capabilities and technology building blocks. Collaborate with the solution manager on the solution backlog and facilitate refinement/prioritization.

• Work with multiple teams to surface all work required to support the build. Track developer progress in support of the build and raise risks to Solution Team.
Manage the Jira board(s) in support of each solution, connecting developer epics to facilitate roadmap management.

• Run scrum meetings and any other meetings in which people need to be brought together to resolve issues or plan together.

• Identify challenges and proactively resolve or escalate risks and issues in a timely and well-articulated manner by engaging stakeholders and Solution Manager. Manage execution risks.

• Understand and articulate dependencies that will influence sequencing of development and other roadmap work.

• Manage migration plan and execution in collaboration with stakeholders, Solution Manager and developers.

• Assist in coordination of multi-layered testing efforts in support of releases.

• Ensure Solution Team artifacts are sufficient to support the PSM team's documentation requirements

• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities while maintaining strong business relationships.

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field required, or combination of equivalent work/education experience.

• A minimum of 7+ years of experience leading complex development and integration projects, strategy, Business Analysis or System Analysis, preferably in the finance/asset management industry

• Excellent communication - both verbal and written - with technology and business partners to include strong discussion, debate and listening skills and the ability to look beyond obvious answers to understand impacts.

• Demonstrated organization skills and usage of Jira to manage product roadmap and planning; strong experience with Confluence

• Experienced in bringing together cross-functional teams and leading execution in an Agile delivery model. Strong experience with Agile practices and frameworks (e.g. Scrum). Experience working with Scaled Agile software development processes.

• Scrum Master certification and/or experience

• Demonstrated success leading without authority, influencing others to achieve measurable results.

• Ability to learn quickly and work independently in a changing environment and under tight deadlines

• Ability to successfully manage and coordinate simultaneous project deliverables across groups and teams

• Demonstrated track record in strategic project management.

• Extensive experience in using critical thinking skills and analysis to solve problems.

• Proven ability to build strong relationships and adopt a collaborative approach to support program execution.

• Experienced in engaging senior stakeholders by escalating and resolving issues as they arise.
