Senior Construction Manager - Concrete, Heavy Construction, Civil Engineering, Roadways

Location: Catawba, North Carolina

Salary: $140,000-$160,000 + Bens

One of Carolina's fastest-growing construction groups are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join and help deliver successful projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Ideally you will have prior experience with Heavy Construction, Civil, Concrete/Roadways.


My client has multiple offices across both North & South Carolina, and was formed over 30 years ago and successfully performs work both as a GC and subcontractor, from small projects to large multi-phase commercial & private projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Plan daily for labor, equipment, tools, and materials needed to ensure smooth operations on-site. Collaborate with crews, Foremen, and Superintendents to complete tasks efficiently and as a unified team.
  • Work Planning & Execution: Ensure all tasks are well-planned before execution and follow up with Foremen to enforce the "Plan the Work and Work the Plan" concept.
  • Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure they are fully prepared, compliant with schedules, and meet safety and project requirements.
  • Quality Control & Compliance: Oversee the layout, utility locates, equipment inspections, and work planning to maintain high-quality standards and project specifications.
  • Team Accountability: Hold Foremen and crews accountable for tracking labor, equipment, materials, and quantities daily. Ensure adherence to schedules and safety procedures.
  • Collaboration with Inspectors & Engineers: Work closely with inspectors and engineers to ensure project specifications and requirements are met on time.
  • Rigging & Crane Operations: Oversee lift planning, ensure crane and rigging operations are executed safely and efficiently, and certify that trained and certified personnel are involved in all crane operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager or in a similar leadership role in construction projects covering Heavy Construction, Civil & Roadways.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively manage teams, subcontractors, and resources to meet project timelines and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with work planning, scheduling, and coordinating equipment and materials.
