Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team of skilled and dedicated engineers, CETs and Construction Inspectors
  • Conduct field inspections of public and private improvements for compliance with contract documents and documentation of construction activities
  • Review design progress sets for constructability and quality assurance
  • Review civil plans during construction and proactively identify issues
  • Assist with contract administration for active construction projects
  • Coordinate and establish schedules for other inspectors to meet the needs of the construction schedule
  • Work with various municipalities
  • Understand and interpret standards, specifications and plans
  • Assist project manager with project administration, closeout, preparing as built drawings, compiling and organizing project documents
  • Perform coordination and communication with Client, general public, contractors, engineers, and other professionals during the construction phase of projects.
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for administering and monitoring private and Public Works improvements; ensure compliance with contract documents

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Civil or Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technician, or Construction Management degree

Required Qualifications (skills/experience/certifications):

  • 2-3 years of experience in construction or engineering fields
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience with inspection of municipal and land development projects including utility and street construction
  • Ability to work with project managers, engineer, and surveyors in a team environment
  • Solid understanding or civil plans and specifications
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with ProCore and other construction management platforms
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to operate in the field independently

Preferred Qualifications (skills/experience/certifications):

  • 5+ years of experience in construction or engineering fields
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam REVU

Compensation: $28.85 - $43.25 per hour


Work Location: In-person in Bozeman, MT (relocation assistance is available)
