Description Join a dynamic team at Leidos Defense Systems Sector as a Senior Configuration Management Specialist, where you'll be pivotal in crafting innovative solutions for complex challenges. Our diverse operations span defense, space, cyber, and commercial sectors across the United States.
As a Senior Configuration Management Specialist, you will oversee product design changes, ensuring that configuration identification is meticulously managed by reviewing design release documents for completeness and necessary authorizations. You will work autonomously to devise solutions for complex technical challenges that affect various disciplines, and provide support for creating and reviewing CDRLs, SDRLs, item records, change records, and more, using a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
Your responsibilities will include executing Configuration and Data Management processes to align with industry standards and customer requirements. You will draft and maintain critical documents such as Configuration Management corporate policies, plans, Project Configuration Forms, and others. Additionally, you will lead and mentor CM team members in solution design and processes while collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other teams to support product lifecycles effectively.
The role calls for a presence on-site for at least 4+ days a week.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: A 4-year degree in a relevant field with 8-12 years of applicable experience.
- Must be a resident of Colorado Springs or willing to relocate.
- Deep knowledge of technical domain standards, principles, and theories to resolve complex issues across disciplines.
- Expertise in configuration change management principles and document types.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, software, and other CM practices as outlined in industry standards such as SAE EIA-649 and MIL-STD-31000.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools like Agile PLM, Oracle Agile, or PTC Windchill.
- Familiarity with bill of materials, technical documents, drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., CREO, Solidworks).
- Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) tools (e.g., Windchill, Solidworks PDM Pro).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Visio experience is a plus.
- Skilled in Adobe PDF editing software or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint collaboration software.
- Able to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass a single scope background investigation and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Other Qualifications:
- Preference for candidates with NDIA CDM, CMII, or other Configuration Management/Data Management certifications.
