We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Digital Engagement (DE) team and lead the design, development and deployment of AWS technologies to supercharge Amber's digital ecosystem. You'll work closely with our key stakeholders and partners, driving innovation every step of the way. We've been streamlining our data processes with a focus on data warehousing, and now we're ready to build a hybrid integration platform, blending our greenfield and brownfield systems. Using DevOps principles and practices, event-driven architecture (i.e. EventBridge), and AWS cloud-native technology, you'll help us take our digital capabilities to the next level.
What will you be doing?
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AWS cloud technologies.
  • This role includes direct line management of one team member, with a focus on providing on-going coaching, mentorship and support.
  • Drive the development of a hybrid integration platform (blending of greenfield/brownfield sites) using DevOps principles and practices (i.e. C.I./C.D. with GitHub actions, Agile working practices, user story mapping, creating Minimum Viable changes, iterative development).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions for seamless data flow across systems.
  • Mentor and coach colleagues in cloud technology and best practices.

What does good look like?
  • Daily hands-on experience with core AWS services.
  • Working in-line with DevOps technology Practices (IaC/CaC, C.I./C.D.) using Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Actions, AWS CDK etc.
  • Proficiency in creating solutions using languages such as Python, NodeJS, TypeScript etc.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues.
  • Problem-solving and love for technical challenges.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment i.e. blending greenfield/brownfield systems to leverage the benefits of cloud.
  • Proficiency in managing senior stakeholders.
  • Understanding or interested in learning modern software engineering development and testing practices (event driven, microservices, messaging patterns i.e. fan out, pub-sub, multicast).
  • Knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and sustainability practices.
  • Cloud Certification (Associate, Professional or Speciality)
