We are looking for a Senior Cloud Database Architect to join our dynamic team, collaborating with seasoned professionals to assist clients in migrating to and effectively managing their operations in the Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), with a key focus on data and its management.
What You'll Do: - Work closely with clients and colleagues to tackle data-related challenges.
- Evaluate and resolve sizing, performance, and configuration problems.
- Plan and implement data migration efforts, individually or in collaboration with larger cloud migration projects.
- Modernize database systems (from MSSQL/Oracle to PgSQL/Aurora).
- Design and develop data lakes and establish ETL pipelines.
- Provide consulting support to clients and team members in drafting Statements of Work.
Who You Are: You are enthusiastic about technology and the variety of options that public cloud solutions provide. You derive satisfaction from helping clients solve current issues while also identifying and addressing potential future challenges. You also possess the following:
Minimum Qualifications: - A BA/BS Degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an MS degree with 6 years of relevant experience, a PhD with 3 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of overall relevant experience without a college degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of specific experience in public cloud environments.
- Intermediate to expert certification in AWS and/or Azure cloud data (e.g., AWS Database Specialty, DP-100, DP-203, DP-300, DP-500).
- Expertise in MS SQL Server and experience with another platform such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB/CosmosDB, both on-premises and in cloud environments (like AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
- Hands-on experience using ETL tools for data management across databases and data warehouses/data lakes.
- Intermediate experience with Infrastructure-as-Code practices (ARM, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Familiarity with identity and access management models in on-premises (Active Directory) and public cloud settings (AWS IAM, Azure AD).
- Experience with migration tools, including but not limited to backup/restore, log shipping/mirroring, Always On Availability Groups, AWS Database Migration Services, and Azure Migrate tools.
Preferred Qualifications: - Professional/Expert level certification in Cloud Architecture (AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AZ-305).
- Intermediate to expert knowledge of data warehousing or analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, RedShift, Azure DataLake).
- Experience with AI/ML applications and workflows.
- Knowledge of industry specifics in verticals like Healthcare/HealthTech, Financial Services/FinTech, SaaS, and E-Commerce is highly valued.
Compensation for this role ranges from $144,900.00 to $241,500.00 per year, depending on factors such as the candidate's qualifications and the location of the position. Additional compensation might be available through incentive programs.
