Join our Civil Engineering team

As a Senior Civil Engineer, your expertise will be vital in tackling engineering challenges and producing designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the Principal Civil Engineer to develop innovative water and wastewater treatment systems and infrastructure designs.

Your insights will help develop and mentor colleagues, guide project briefs, and ensure outstanding engineering solutions. You'll contribute to sustainable engineering efforts that drive Thames Water's success into AMP8 and beyond, making a positive impact on our community and environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct root cause analyses of engineering issues affecting wastewater network assets.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as operations, network modelling, and asset management.
  • Identify and define optimized engineering solutions.
  • Contribute civil infrastructure input into feasibility studies, optioneering, whole-life costing, and preliminary designs.
  • Provide technical input into Project Definition Briefs.
  • Support the development of a cohesive, sustainable engineering team from graduates to industry experts, aligning with Thames Water's future engineering requirements.
Location & Work Schedule

Based at Clearwater Court, with on-site work approximately 2-3 days per week. Standard hours are 36 per week, Monday to Friday.

Candidate Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering, preferably with professional chartership.
  • Experience designing and rehabilitating wastewater infrastructure such as sewers, pumping stations, rising mains, CSOs, and storage tanks.
  • Ability to assess the buildability of engineering solutions.
  • Understanding of regulatory environments for compliance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate and influence.
  • Experience producing Design Management plans and delivering projects on plan.
