JOB DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Performs a variety of receptionist and customer service duties for the Senior Center.
Works under the supervision of the Assistant Program Manager and Program Coordinator.
Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
Some supervision of volunteers is exercised in this position.
Greets visitors to the Senior Center and directs them to the appropriate area.
Answers and screens incoming calls and takes messages for the Senior Center staff.
Receives fees for various activities and accounts for funds received from patrons.
Inputs data regarding patron attendance, maintains database
Gives information to the public regarding programs and services.
Performs general clerical duties such as computer typing, filing, and maintaining database files.
Assists with set up and take down of supplies and equipment for classes.
Assists patrons using public access computer ensuring compliance of policies
Coordinates with staff for equipment set-up for classes, using signage.
Maintains cleanliness of equipment and reports damage to equipment/property.
Maintains a welcoming environment for patrons and reports violations of behavioral policies.
Assists with keeping main reception area and small kitchen clean.
Occasionally operates motor vehicle to deliver meals or transport patrons.
Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Works other related Senior Center activities within the Senior Center Campus or outside, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program. This includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years or state of current residency.
Clerical experience is preferred. Must have knowledge of general clerical duties.
Knowledgeable in personal computer operations.
Experience working with the public in person and over the telephone.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to type 30 wpm preferred.
Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
Ability to work a varied schedule.
Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
Skill in the operation of listed tools and equipment, and the ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to communicate, understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with co-workers, supervisors and other City departments. Ability to effectively and courteously interact with the public.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Personal computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel software; cash register; calculator; copy and fax machine; phone; mobile or portable radio.
