SummaryThe Sr. Category Manager is responsible for the US strategy and execution of the assigned product categories. Additionally, this role will be the point person to help lead cross-category process improvement programs (pricing administration, competitive tracking, etc.). He/She will partner with numerous cross functional teams to ensure profitability and share growth of relevant categories by optimizing mix, pricing and go to market strategies. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in P&L management, pricing, assortment/mix planning, and will be knowledgeable about different retail channels, including home improvement, hardware, co-op, independent, specialty, mass, club and e-commerce. This leader needs to have the ability to develop processes and ways of working from the ground up, establishing relationships and leading a team of cross-functional members.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for delivering annual financial metrics of assigned categories (Invoiced Sales, GM%, Share) Define & operationally execute GTM strategy (mix, pricing, trade program, incentives, online execution) to accelerate assigned categories at home improvement, hardware, co-op, independent, specialty, mass, club, E-commerce and other retail channelsCreate a deep understanding of the marketplace & competitive assortments/activities through in-market analysis, Sales input and Product Management inputCollaborate with the Product Management and Sales Teams to drive the right flooring assortments in line with channel strategy and to drive growth in each accountCreate action plans to close gaps; identifying opportunities by category & channelLead a diverse cross-functional team in determining pricing & promotional strategy and calendar review, managing a review process and hierarchy of approval for sales programming and sales proposalsDrive the team in determining innovative tactics and campaigns and priorities to drive profitability through volume, price, and mixProvide monthly reporting of revenue and profit performance, variance analysis, new product development updates and changes Qualificationsto perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
