Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Senior Business Systems Analyst is translating business requirements into technology solutions that support the Company and its goals and objectives. This position works as an effective liaison between the Business and IT to analyze, troubleshoot and escalate business system needs, especially focusing on efficiency and compliance related aspects. In addition, this position provides technical support to assist the appropriate system administrators with the functionality of software that conforms to established policies, procedures and best practices.

As a Senior role, this position leverages advanced knowledge to make strategic recommendations on process improvement and standardization as well as guide junior staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gathers, defines and documents complex business systems requirements and processes. Determines, documents, and communicates the impact of proposed system enhancements and changes to current business processes.
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Facilitates cross-functional team meetings to define project requirements, update team about the progress of projects and resolve any issues that may arise. Effectively communicates project information to business stakeholders and management.
  • Evaluates, prioritizes, and manages user acceptance testing and data validation.
  • Assists team in planning and installing system enhancements or new system developments in production and takes a lead role in driving the vendor to complete implementation on time and within budget.
  • Plays a key role in the change management process involving changes to the application and interface/integration with the core system; and works with the IT department, ensuring that formal and disciplined change management guidelines are being followed.
  • Works with the Training department and business to develop communications plan and training materials to improve the adoption process and technology changes.
  • Acts as an escalation point of issues and advises junior staff, ensuring established procedures are followed.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems or analytical techniques or equivalent related work experience required.
  • High School diploma required.
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a business analyst working on large and complex projects that built or enhanced production systems required.
  • Minimum of three (3) year mortgage lending experience required.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and implementing projects in a cross functional team environment.
