Job Summary The Senior Business Project Manager will oversee business-facing projects, providing strategic leadership and execution support across the project lifecycle.
This individual must possess excellent stakeholder and financial management skills, as well as strong communication and presentation abilities.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with executive leadership and have a proven track record of delivering complex projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and support delivery initiatives from inception to completion in partnership with the Delivery Leader.
- Develop and maintain project scope, timeline, resource plan, stakeholder matrix, and communication strategy.
- Facilitate team collaboration and ensure alignment across departments and functions.
- Track, escalate, and manage project risks and issues; develop contingency plans as needed.
- Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with budget, scope, and timeline.
- Create and maintain project documentation including business cases, workplans, stakeholder lists, communication plans, and budgets.
- Drive project communications through weekly status updates, executive presentations, and stakeholder meetings.
- Maintain project artifacts on SharePoint or designated project sites.
- Track financials, including third-party purchases and overall budget forecasting.
- Utilize tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Planview, and Jira.
- Adapt project management methods based on best practices and project demands.
- Measure performance and identify improvement opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and document project governance, ensuring consistent visibility and accountability.
Required Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years on the business side.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and communicate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Proven experience with Planview and Jira.
- Strong working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience managing projects through all phases of the lifecycle, from initiation to closure.
- Strong financial tracking, forecasting, and budget management capabilities.
- Ability to create effective and executive-level PowerPoint presentations.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office 365 suite including Teams, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive, high-energy approach to driving results.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience using Smartsheet.
- Effective resource estimation and capacity planning.
- Ability to shift between high-level strategic thinking and detailed execution.
- Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills in dynamic environments.
