Senior Business Development Manager

A leading provider of technical and facility solutions is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth within the Technical Solutions, HVAC Mechanical, EV, and Electrical sectors in a defined territory. This role is responsible for acquiring new accounts while expanding relationships with a set list of established clients.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with a regional sales manager and a technical team to develop and implement strategic sales initiatives for custom and bundled solutions. The role involves full ownership of the sales cycle, including communication, maintenance, and relationship management, ensuring clients achieve their HVAC mechanical equipment and maintenance goals.

Essential Functions

  • Identify, plan, and execute growth strategies to acquire new clients through market research, targeted outreach, cold calling, and value-driven introductions.
  • Partner with technical experts to co-develop innovative, customized solutions for clients.
  • Assist customers with risk mitigation strategies, helping them budget for future projects by reducing emergency service calls and unplanned HVAC, power, and resiliency expenses.
  • Develop and present pricing options and CapEx budgeting support for prospective clients.
  • Conduct facility benchmarking to identify inefficiencies and provide industry-specific performance insights.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships to earn trust, meet client objectives, and deliver value-added solutions.

Qualifications

Education
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering) or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • 3+ years of technical solutions sales experience, preferably in mechanical design, facilities management, new building construction, or business solutions direct to end-users.
Other Requirements
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage executive-level decision-makers.
  • Proven leadership in customer engagements and ability to manage the entire sales cycle.
  • Track record of building relationships with both new and existing clients to drive new business, upsell solutions, and maintain long-term contracts.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
  • Skilled in crafting compelling, detailed sales proposals through Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple proposals and processes simultaneously.
  • Motivated for professional, personal, and financial growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software such as Salesforce.
