Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Location: Oakland, CA
Duration: 12-month Contract
Work Type: Hybrid
Pay Range: $75 - $90/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data.
• Develops new or revises existing data analysis to predict business outcomes, selecting from various complex variables.
• Develops and uses metrics to develop recommendations related to business strategy and operations.
• Presents findings and recommendations to leaders.
• Manages small to mid-size projects.
• Strong working experience in data warehousing and business intelligence technologies, including good knowledge of Relational databases/SQL, SAS, and Business Objects.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving experience.
• Responds to internal and external data requests, and ensures deadlines are met and stakeholders are satisfied.
• Designs effective systems that assist with regulatory filings and various analytical modeling needs based on large volumes of customer and financial data.

• Advanced SQL, Excel, and Power BI knowledge
• Years of experience in Data Analytics
• Professional experience in the utility sector.

Education Minimum

• Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.

Desired

• MBA or graduate degree

Experience Minimum:

• 4 years of related work experience

• Advanced understanding of fundamental analysis and what-if modeling concepts, methods, and techniques, and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes

• Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management
• Knowledge and understanding of key drivers affecting business results
• Strong project management knowledge and skills to lead project teams
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
• Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, Power BI, Power Automate, and Excel

Technical Proficiency:

• Advanced in Information Analysis, Market Research, Metrics and KPI Tracking, Consulting Skills, and Project Management skills.
• Proficient in Operational Monitoring & Analysis, Advocacy and Persuasion, Presentation Skills
• Advanced Excel and highly proficient with SQL database queries and modeling

Notes:

• Only candidates currently residing locally in the Bay Area/near the work location - Oakland general office.
• Assignment is mainly remote but required on-site in oakland 4-5 times per month at the manager's request.
• The laptop will be issued.
• A pre-determined amount for cell and internet may be expensed monthly with the manager's prior approval.
