Requirements The ideal individual will have:
- Expertise in building pathology, with the ability to investigate, diagnose defects, and recommend remedial solutions
- Strong understanding of construction technology, particularly within the new build residential sector
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively through written reports, meetings, and presentations to clients
- Proven experience in managing a portfolio of projects and providing regular progress report updates to stakeholders
- Experience with various forms of procurement and contracts to offer strategic advice to clients
- Experience in preparing tender documents, including preliminaries, schedules of work, and pricing documents
Job SummarySenior Building Surveyor / Associate Director responsibilities will include:
- Providing strong leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary professional teams, ensuring project milestones are met
- Developing and communicating project objectives, strategies, and timelines to align internal teams, stakeholders, and partners
- Developing project programmes from feasibility through pre-construction and procurement, ensuring milestones are highlighted and regularly reviewed
- Facilitating design team meetings and managing the pre-construction phase
- Ensuring professional teams manage the scope, fee allocation, and potential risk of scope creep
- Developing and maintaining an evolving risk register from project inception through to completion
- Identifying and mitigating potential project risks to minimise disruptions and delays
- Preparing, regulating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
- Administering JCT construction contracts, including chairing meetings
- Providing contract administration services for projects from inception to completion
- Valuing work completed on-site and certifying payments
- Assessing cost variations, preparing and agreeing final accounts
- Managing extension of time and loss and expense claims
- Overseeing the handover process, ensuring client-specific requirements and all relevant regulations are adhered to
